Raising Aspirations

Beech Grove Primary School

Raising Aspirations

At Beech Grove, we are passionate about Raising Aspirations and encouraging every child to aim high and believe in their potential. We provide a wide range of opportunities for pupils to learn about different careers and the world of work, helping them to see the many possibilities open to them. Throughout the year, we welcome visitors from a variety of professions, including engineers, STEM specialists, the Royal Air Force, Police, Fire Brigade, nurses and doctors, who deliver inspiring workshops and talks. We also invite local historians and community workers to share stories of Middlesbrough’s rich history and highlight successful people from our area. Children learn about the positive impact of migration, both historically and today, and in Year 6, our Careers Day brings in local businesses and services to help pupils explore future paths. We’ve also taken part in Dragon’s Den-style projects to develop entrepreneurial thinking, including working closely with the Cleveland Police Crime Commissioner on innovative ideas to support our local community. These experiences help our children to develop ambition, confidence and a strong sense of possibility for their future.
