Archimedes – Maths
We are working alongside Archimedes Maths Hub to further develop the teaching of mathematics at Beech Grove Primary School. We are proud of the journey we have taken in recent years to improve the skills that our children possess in maths and we are now in the process of taking our next steps.
Archimedes Maths Hub comprises of several schools across Middlesbrough and other parts of North-East England. It aims to spread excellent practice in mathematics across local schools to benefit both teachers and students. As of the academic year 2020/21, we will be entering the final year of our three-year course with Archimedes.
Through working with Archimedes, we have been able to develop maths specialists in school as well as making long-term plans as to how we are going to implement some of the strategies learned. Small elements taken from Archimedes have been drip-fed into the school using the school’s Maths Working Party.
We look forwards to seeing where our journey with Archimedes will take us next.
